- Heidi's interest in photography began at an
early age when her father began to teach her the intricacies of
apertures and shutter speeds on his fully manual Pentax camera.
High school brought about an interest in photojournalism and
darkroom processing, and Heidi eventually went on to
win several awards for her newspaper and creative writing magazine
work. After moving on to Penn State, Heidi eventually graduated
with honors in Electrical Engineering, a field that satisfied her
need
 for
challenging and technical work.
- It wasn't until Heidi's third daughter was born
that she realized her need for a creative outlet, something that
fills her soul and warms her heart. And it was then that her
lifelong passion and love for photography evolved into a thriving
and successful business. Her clear and obvious talent for
photographing children stems from her ability to capture the
energy, spirit and innocence of each child. Her primary goal is to
capture, if only for a moment, the sheer and utter joy of
childhood.

- Heidi's work has been showcased in several
local venues and she has most recently opened a brand new studio
in her home. While Heidi's primary emphasis is on black and white
infant and children's portraiture both in her studio and on
location, she also photographs high school seniors, maternity and
an occasional blade of grass.

- Heidi and her husband love the adventure of
raising three rambunctious little girls in State College,
Pennsylvania, otherwise known as Happy Valley.

- Editorial Comment: Character &
Personality: Those are the two words that immediately come
to mind when viewing the work of Heidi Lewis! It is
obvious that a session with her is fun, and the work that
results is what sets Heidi apart from others. Working with
children takes a special, caring, and fun personality; even
though I have never met her, that is how I envision her
personality through her images. IROCP is proud to showcase
Heidi Lynne Photography as the Featured Photographer.
